How to Prepare for a Driveway Clean

How to Prepare for a Driveway Clean — A Quick Homeowner Guide — Jet Waves Pressure Washing Leicester & Leicestershire

Most of the work on driveway cleaning day is on us, but there are a few small things you can do beforehand that make the job go more smoothly and let us get straight on with the cleaning. Here is the short, honest guide we send to customers ahead of a visit.

Move the cars

The single most useful thing you can do is move any cars off the drive before we arrive. We will need clear access to the whole surface, including any edges or borders. If parking is tight, plan ahead — most streets have somewhere we can ask you to park for a few hours.

Move loose items

Pots, garden ornaments, doormats, bins and anything else loose on the drive needs to come off. We are happy to move heavier items as long as we know where to put them. Smaller items are easier if you handle them.

Close the windows

Pressure washing creates a fine mist that can travel a few metres. Closing any open windows on the front of the house is sensible. We try to angle the lance away from glass but mist is unavoidable on a windy day.

Outside tap access

We need access to an outside tap. The water cost is included in our quote — you will not be charged extra. If your tap is on the back of the house, let us know in advance so we can plan the hose run.

Pets and small children

Pressure washing is loud and the lance can flick stones at speed. We ask that pets and small children stay indoors while we are working. We will let you know when we are packing up so you can get back outside.

Anything else

That is genuinely it. Everything else is on us. If you have any questions before the day, just give us a call on 07732 187000.
